Official penya of FC Barcelona, number 2.026. We watch the games together in the Josefstadt district, play football every Thursday from April to October and allocate the club’s ticket quotas to our members.
Udo Steinberg, born in Berlin in 1877, was one of the German-speaking pioneers of early sport in Barcelona.
After an apprenticeship in a mechanical workshop, he studied at the Technikum Mittweida from October 1895. In April 1899 he founded the Lawn-Tennis Club Barcelona together with many later founding members of FC Barcelona. On 28 January 1900 he attended the founding meeting of the German Football Association in Leipzig as a delegate of Chemnitzer SC Britannia and Mittweidaer Ballspiel-Club, and returned to Barcelona the same year.
With his name, the Vienna penya remembers the German-speaking foreigners who co-founded FC Barcelona around Hans Gamper.
The club year runs from 1 January to 31 December. After signing up, you receive a confirmation and more information about the penya within 24 hours.
* Reduced: people doing civilian or military service, students, unemployed people, pensioners, and people who turn at least 15 and at most 18 in the membership year.
You sign up using the form in our membership system. Have a valid photo ID ready, because the form asks for the type of ID, its number and the date until which it is valid. A driving licence does not count as photo ID.

With the penya membership card you get these benefits in Barcelona:
If you have received the penya card for several years in a row, you can apply for FC Barcelona membership (soci) through the penya. We pass your details on to the club’s Penyes department, which checks the requirements. If your application is accepted, the club issues a certificate. You collect it in person at the Penyes office in Barcelona and then complete your registration there.
For the card you also need to register in FC Barcelona’s Penyes portal. This is a separate step from signing up with us. You are activated once your sign-up with the penya is complete and your fee has reached our account.
